    Why This Practicum Stands Out

Many psychedelic training programs lack the capacity to offer a comprehensive, hands-on practicum alongside academic coursework.

Our program fills that gap by:

    • Bridging Theory and Practice. Provides immersive, real-world experience that builds directly on students’ existing training rather than requiring them to start a separate stand alone program for an experiential
    • Direct Exposure to Legal Psychedelic Work. Uses ketamine, which is available for off label use across the country, giving students a legitimate hands-on facilitation experience in a real clinical setting that can be immediately useful in their own individual work.
    • Culturally Affirming Learning Spaces. Creates environments where Queer and BIPOC trainees can engage in both the client and facilitator role without fear of marginalization, while all participants learn culturally attuned care practices.

    • Flexible, Accessible Design. Offers affordable tuition, payment plans and scholarships so financial barriers don’t stand in the way of essential practicum experiences.

    • Aligned with Psilocybin Certification Standards. Designed to fulfill portions of the Oregon Health Authority’s experiential hours requirements for licensure, this practicum equips students with supervised, hands-on experience that can support future eligibility to offer psilocybin services in jurisdictions where it is legal, should they choose to pursue that path.

    • Mentorship from Experience Practitioners. Provides guidance from facilitators actively working in the psychedelic therapy field, ensuring training reflect current, real-world best practices.

    FAQ

Do I have to be BIPOC or Queer to participate in this practicum?

No. This practicum is open to all eligible applicants. While our training is intentionally designed to equip practitioners with the skills to serve Queer and BIPOC clients from a culturally attuned, affirming lens, participants of all backgrounds are welcome.

Do I have to be currently enrolled in a training program to participate in the practicum?

You can either be currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a recognized psychedelic-assisted therapy training program. If you are currently enrolled, you must have already completed the preparatory, facilitation, and integration portions of your curriculum. This practicum focuses on practicing and refining these skills in a real-world setting — it is not designed to provide entry-level instruction.

Do I need to have previous ketamine experience to join?

No prior ketamine or psychedelic experience is required. For practitioners who have never experienced ketamine, we can offer entry-level dosing so you can participate as both a facilitator and a journeyer.

If you do not want to experience ketamine, you do not have to. You can practice your facilitation skills only and choose not to journey.

What routes of administration are offered?

We offer liquid ketamine either orally or via intramuscular (IM) injection, depending on clinical suitability.

    Is there any exclusion criteria?

Yes. We follow all medical and psychological safety guidelines for psychedelic administration. Unfortunately, we cannot offer practicum participation to individuals who are actively experiencing psychosis or mania, or those with unmanaged hypertension. Each participant must have a qualifying mental health diagnosis and will be required to complete both a psychological assessment and a medical assessment before being cleared to participate in medicine sessions.

Where will the practicum be held?

All medicine sessions take place in person at our Oakland, CA office. If you are seeking to meet Oregon Health Authority (OHA) experiential hour requirements, your preparatory and integration sessions must also be held in person. For those not seeking OHA qualification, prep and integration sessions can be conducted virtually via our secure, HIPAA-compliant Google Meet platform.

    How is the practicum scheduled?

Each practicum runs for 6 weeks. After each application deadline, we determine how many cohorts will run for that semester. Applicants are surveyed about their scheduling preferences during the application process, and we build cohorts based on shared availability for medicine sessions. Participants schedule their own 1:1 preparation and integration sessions with their assigned partner. All group prep, integration, and medicine session dates are released in advance, allowing participants to plan accordingly.

Can I apply if I'm not local?

Yes. If you are seeking OHA qualification, you will need to be matched with a local partner for in-person prep and integration sessions. Otherwise, those sessions may be held online. In all cases, you must travel to our Oakland office for the in-person medicine session, as we do not offer virtual ketamine sessions.

How do I apply for financial aid?

Financial aid and payment plans are available for participants with demonstrated need. The application for financial aid can be found within the main practicum application form and is also available [here – insert link]. We encourage applying early, as scholarship funds are not guaranteed.
